Beth's Budget Basics
Creating your own customized budget does not have to be difficult. The app included for B3 subscribers allows you to create a budget tailored to your current finances, and/or create a budget for the next phase of your life.

First enter your monthly take home pay. It's important to use your net wage, not your gross salary in this block.

The app automatically adjusts all spending categories based on your take home pay.

The app shows normal ranges for each budget category. For example, Housing expenses are commonly 20-30% of take home pay. Use the + and - buttons to increase your Housing budget until the amounts approximates your monthly expense.

Move through all of the 14 budget categories increasing and decreasing the Input % to reflect your current spending.

There are helpful definitions of each budget category shown on the Budget Narrative page. Please review those definitions to assist in recalling all of the elements of your current spending in any given category.

At the bottom of the categories, the app continuously updates your overall budgetary spending. When you are finished, your budget plan should total 100%. If your budget is either more or less than 100%, adjust accordingly.

Once you are satisfied with your budget, you may export it to a PDF document; simply click "Create PDF".

At this time, the app does not allow you to store your data inside the app. By exporting data to a PDF, you capture your current budget.
