About Me
In some ways, I have not changed much since I was a child. I was always fascinated by money. When I was 5 years old, my mother told me that we were going to take my piggy bank to the bank, and they would give me even more money if I did that. I was confused and wanted to know why they would do that.

I do not think that it surprised my parents that I became a CPA. I made the decision to major in accounting when I was 15 years old. I continue to love business, finance and accounting today.

I attended Furman University for my undergraduate degree and the University of Miami for graduate school. I took the CPA exam in November 1989 before you could bring a calculator into the examination. (It's okay; I love math!) After I graduated, I began work at Price Waterhouse as an auditor. I served as the senior financial officer at four different institutions. My most recent employment was with Volunteer State Community College where I presided over a $70 million operation as Vice President for Business & Finance.
