About Me

In some ways, I have not changed much since I was a child.  I was always fascinated by money.  When I was 5 years old, my mother told me that we were going to take my piggy bank to the bank, and they would give me even more money if I did that.  I was confused and wanted to know why they would do that.

I do not think that it surprised my parents that I became a CPA. I made the decision to major in accounting when I was 15 years old.  I continue to love business, finance and accounting today.

I attended Furman University for my undergraduate degree and the University of Miami for graduate school.  I took the CPA exam in November 1989 before you could bring a calculator into the examination.  (It's okay; I love math!)  After I graduated, I began work at Price Waterhouse as an auditor.  I served as the senior financial officer at four different institutions.  My most recent employment was with Volunteer State Community College where I presided over a $70 million operation as Vice President for Business & Finance.  For more details on my resume, just double click the LinkedIn logo (in) at the bottom of the page and you will go straight to my page.

One of my money passions is fairness and integrity.  We work hard for our money and it matters how we use our funds. Whether you’re in college and are worried about the debt your are incurring, have never made a budget and feel like you need one, or if you have recently gone through a life transition, like a divorce, and are having trouble getting your financial footing, I want to help. Contact me today to set up a meeting and find out more about what I can do for you.
